Rachel and I are hitting the road this week, and we’ll be sending you daily greetings from Pennsylvania!
As we sat down to plan our itinerary I was reminded how huge Pennsylvania is, and that we were only going to be able to see a fraction of it. I’m used to living in a large state, New York is even larger than PA, and though I lived there for 40 years there is plenty of it that I’ve never seen; Niagara Falls remains on my list.
So far we have a fairly loose schedule with only our first three days booked. I’ll be posting daily, sharing our travels and adventures, the sights we see, and of course the food we see, are tempted by, and eat. So no hints yet.
We leave Tuesday (and if you’re planning on breaking in while we’re away, please note, we have friends house/cat sitting). Because a lot of our trip isn’t set in stone yet, please send suggestions if there’s someplace you think we shouldn’t miss, or someplace we need to eat. Of course I’ve pulled out our old copy of Jane and Michael Stern’s Roadfood, and we’ll be going through its yellowing pages, hoping the places we choose are still operating.
I hope you’ll come along on our journey and stay in touch this week.
We embark tomorrow, so we’ll check back in with you on Wednesday. Here’s to a great week!

Peggy Gilbey McMackin - Wishing you lots of fun and good memories on your trip this week Nancy. It will be interesting to follow along your finds. The back roads are lovely and on the way up to Jim Thorpe. Lancaster is quite pretty,Amish history, covered bridges, folks on horse and buggies, and of course, lots of farms and good food. The Poconos (not so much good food to choose there.) Happy Trails!
Cathy Goodwin - Where did you get that cool old-timey post card? They haven’t made those since before many of your readers were born!
