I don’t consider myself a great cook, but I try to make great meals. I have been trained so I understand technique and cooking methods, and am not afraid or intimidated by recipes, but like art school, or music conservatories, culinary school can teach you technique, but no one can teach you to be talented.   Poor maligned meatloaf! How many people hear the word, and turn up their noses and decry their hatred for it. Yet those same people can tell you where you can get the best meatballs, they love paté and kofta, so what’s the deal about meatloaf? Maybe when you were growing up your mom (or […]

Last week I talked about rediscovering an old copy of the Settlement Cookbook that has been in my possession for many years. My copy is from 1931, the original having been published in 1901. The book was compiled and published by Elizabeth Kander. My copy is in very bad shape, the pages have separated from […]

Elmer Honda - Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with? I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S Apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!ReplyCancel
