I don’t often write anything resembling a move review, but I just saw CHEF and I enjoyed it so much I changed my plans for today’s post. Here is my disclaimer, this is not a movie review per se, this is a post about how much and why I enjoyed this flawed but highly entertaining […]

Great Sandwiches » Chefs Last Diet - […] sandwich eater, I do appreciate great sandwiches. In fact I put a lot of effort into making my own Cubano a few months ago. If you believe making a sandwich is a simple affair, you haven’t had a […]ReplyCancel

Finally, the future is here and not only can you stop cooking, you can save hours a day in food preparation and all that cleanup too! Is this good news? You may or may not know that I rely heavily on the Colbert Report for my news, and recently his guest was Robert Rhinehart creator […]

Rhonda - I agree that is sound incredibly sad just sitting around drinking that bland and boring drink all the time. I love food too much for that.ReplyCancel

Anna Belle - My husband and I saw that interview too! At least for the name, I’m in the right demographic (when people asked what you were drinking, you could say “people”!) Anyway, I know a *lot* of ladies who do the shake thing, so maybe this makes a more nutritious base for that? My husband and I cook 2 hot meals each day, so we are most definitely not the target audience for this! I have friends though that have dieted for so long that food has become irrevocably wrapped up in that to the point that it really is for substance, not pleasure. Maybe those people would like it? (It’s still a sad situation to me!)ReplyCancel

In places like Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America they keep cool in the hot months with a refreshing beverage called Agua Fresca. This translates as fresh water, and is a cooling drink made by infusing cold water with pureed fruit. When I was in San Diego two summers ago one of our goals was to […]

Do you ever wonder what they eat in heaven? I love the Albert Brooks movie Defending Your Life. It is set in Judgement City, a place somewhere between life, and wherever you are headed next. The two main characters Julia and Daniel meet there, and though their days are spent literally defending the choices they […]

Jhanis - It can be hard sometimes for some of us, especially if we focus on what others might think (but based on experience, many are too busy with their own lives to really notice). I hope it’s easy to just say WTH and enjoy life to the fullest. 🙂ReplyCancel

Jennifer @Making Our Life Matter - I always struggle with self-image, food, eating, etc. I pray that it won’t be an issue when we reach Heaven. One thing I hope for? No brussel sprouts. Ick.ReplyCancel

I think that’s better than waiting for heaven, is making our peace with these issues now, and not waiting.

We loved and polished off every morsel! (They are tiny). Heaven right here! What is cassata cake? I have never heard of it. I am a big fan of tres leches cake.ReplyCancel

One year ago today I sat down and composed my first blog post for The Chef’s Last Diet. I have always dreamed of writing, and suddenly I had the time and the motivation to get started. I had just read Gary Vernaychuk’s book Crush It, on the recommendation of a friend, and then had a […]

    Barb Waterman - Hello Nancy,

    Congratulations!One year down is fabulous.

Like you, I too want to start a blog spot and am diligently working on making that happen. Perhaps we can meet up at an upcoming conference.

BTW, are you a Philly girl? I am from SW Philly (real close to Delaware County) and while my city has changed and I no longer live there, (Virginia) I LOVE PHILADELPHIA….it will always be my home.

    Again, congratulations.
